The therapy room, bathed in the golden light of the morning sun streaming through its large window, was a rare oasis of warmth in the otherwise sterile mansion. Soft mats in cheerful colors covered the floor, interspersed with shelves stocked with adaptive toys and tools, promising an environment of play and possibility. Yet, despite the inviting design, the air crackled with unspoken tension, taut as a drawn bowstring.
