I’m still here three hours later, hunched over the console in the surveillance room, when Grayson strides in. The sterile hum of flickering screens and the cold bite of concrete walls have been my only company as I’ve watched the feed from her cell without pause.
“We have her, sir,” Grayson says, gesturing to the central monitor. It’s an unnecessary motion; my gaze hasn’t wavered from the grainy image of two vampires dragging an unmoving figure into the barred chamber.
