The smell of cumin and fried plantains tickled Evan’s nose as he navigated the narrow, winding paths of the staff village, his khaki pants brushing against thick jungle foliage pressing in on either side. The air was heavy with humidity, carrying the faint sounds of laughter and the rhythmic thump of distant music. It was a stark contrast to the opulence of Azure Shores’ guest areas, but this place felt alive in a way the polished luxury of the resort could never replicate.
