I got up with the first rays of the sun, unable to sleep properly through the night. Excitement, hope, and even anxiety wouldn't leave me alone. Tying my hair tightly and adjusting the laces on my vest, I left the room. I bought a couple of pies for the road, since I didn't feel like eating right then.

Then I visited the mage and retrieved the artifact. I made my way to the square and joined the line. The queue was quite long, and though they were processing individuals quickly, the line moved slowly because they were inspecting the wagons. Finally, it was my turn, but someone bumped into me. I looked up and growled, my patience wearing thin. Familiar eyes flashed from under the hood of the person beside me. The dratted dragon.
