"We need to cover our tracks, sell the wagon at the market, and some of our belongings too... We can't be seen with such distinctive items." Laess scooped me up and, ignoring disapproving looks, placed me in the vehicle. "We'll leave now, the city is nearby. They won't search for us at night."
Everyone immediately sprang into action, washing dishes and shaking out mats.
It turned out that the wagon didn't require any animals; it was powered by an artifact filled with magic. The men easily jumped over the wagon's sides and surrounded me.
